Welcome Home, and advice requests...

As I write, I am surrounded by boxes, piles of things, and lists of "to-dos". As we all know, the physical moving of stuff between houses is one thing - settling in to a new place is something else entirely! We are getting there, however - most of the rooms are fairly presentable, or can be made so within a half hour. At least, that's what I'm hoping - we are due to have quite a few visitors this weekend! I'm hoping that by this time next week I'll be feeling really happy with how everything looks and will do a blog post with photos so you can all see our cute wee flat.

In addition to being in our new place, I am also on summer break (Praise be!). I had every good intention of going into school a lot this week, but a break from my classroom and the endless reams of paperwork has been blissful. I'll be in some afternoons next week, probably, but for now it's nice to have been away for a little while!

Right, I shall close this brief missive with two requests for advice - one for the ladies, one for the cooks....

1. I'm thinking of trying a new skincare regime - what range do you ladies use?

2. I have treated myself to a crockpot / slow cooker (yay!). Do you guys have any good recipes for such things?

Right, time to go to the post office and the gym (ah, the gym. This is the point in the summer break where I can really feel that I haven't worked out enough - I'm fine *during* the workout, but the morning after is always a shocker!). More soon - have a lovely Friday!

  1. Okay, I'll pretend I'm a lady today. It won't be hard, I am wearing a mini-skirt.
My skin care regiment is pretty simple. I use a face scrub and then a face wash. The scrub is rough and pumicey and the wash is kinda minty.
I've noticed that it makes my face skin very smooth and soft, you know, between the pimples.

  2. You should get a good recipe for honey meatballs. You're boy will thank me.

  3. I can't wait to see photos of your new flat!

As for skincare, I'm just using a cheap Oil of Olay cleanser + toner from the drugstore + a moisturizer with UV protection.

I've never used a slow cooker, so no help there.

  4. Liz Earle is quite good for my sensitive skin and they do it mega cheap on QVC sometimes.

I also (when less flush) use Boots Botanics on my face.

But I am also considering a change.

Slow cookers? I recommend proper (with chunks of beef not beef mince) chilli, stews and all sorts - I'll give you a list when I see you xx

  5. Congrats on the new place and thank you for the cards :)

What do I do? Use Kiss My Face peach lotion every morning (in addition to washing my face in the shower twice a day) and use sunscreen. And eat lots of veggies. And not drink or smoke. But mostly I think it's good genes and I'm just lucky.

Thank you for your comment - I do read them all but it may take me a little while (a couple of days) to respond during busy times. I love reading what you have to say!

Have a wonderful day!
