Our new (very noisy) alarm clock. It's tick-tock is lovely and quiet, but its bbbbrrrrrrring could rouse the dead! Should come in handy for those 6 am starts in February!

This is our draught excluder, sent to us as a housewarming present from lovely Cat. He's both adorable and functional :) I just need to name him now...

The Claire-lair is also known as our spare room, but as it contains my desk and laptop, my shelves of books and a very comfy bed upon which I can sprawl and read, I spend a goodly amount of my time in here!
The basket of cards and writing goodies....always delightful to put pen to paper.
Mmmmm, another bed. That shelf next to it is my current 'to-read' pile!

I love this little stack of boxes, a gift from T.dot, one of my pupils last year. I think they might come in handy for hiding Matthew presents later in the year too - aren't they just begging to be filled with goodies, wrapped, and stashed under the tree?
My desk, my joy. To the right is the digita; frame I was kindly given when I left my last job. There was no room for it in the old place, so it's nice to have it out at long last!
There are 80 love hearts in this vase. Some are paper clips, some are paper, some are heart shaped buttons. They represent the 80 pounds I am aiming to lose over the next two years. I've started working towards this goal, and at the end of each month I'll be writing a post and monitoring my progress. Should be an incentive! Oh, and each 'heart' is £10 I can then spend on myself - on new workout gear, on a haircut, on whatever...We shall see - first heart post will be on the 31st, where I'll be assessing July & August together....I'm hoping for 5 - 7 pounds over summer break. Will the visit home next week help or hinder this ambition, I wonder?

I love all of your pictures. I don't think I could sleep with a tick tock alarm clock, but it is very nice.
That's a cool motivation strategy that you have devised!
