The Tracks Of My Years

(hat tip to Ken Bruce, whose show may have subliminally given me the title for this series...)

Next month, as most of you know, I will be turning thirty. I’m not much of a one for birthdays, but it feels significant. Weighty. Maybe even a little grown up. Anyway, one of the things I am doing to celebrate my journey into the thirties is a little drinks party at a bar close to home in London. It should be fun and I am so looking forward to seeing so many of the people I love in one place!

I decided I wanted to do a small gift for each of my guests. I’ve done party bags before (remember my twenty-second, Hannah?), but will already be making sure there’s cake and nibbles at the shindig. So I decided a mix CD would be a nice gift. And then an idea took shape.

The thirty-one songs on the shortlist, are the ‘tracks of my years’. Every one of them is a track I love, and that I’d love to share. So over the next month, I’ll be sharing them here. I hope you like them! Starting tomorrow I’ll be counting them down, in reverse order. I wonder how many of them might make your list?

With each selection I’ll detail why I chose that song, and no doubt ramble on in a Claire style too…

  1. What an awesome idea and a thoughtful gift!

  2. I'm looking forward to reading your choices and hopefully hearing some new artists!

  3. That is so cute! My family is very into dad says it's the one day of the year you get to act as selfish as most people do every day!

  4. That is so cool, what a kind and awesome idea!

Thank you for your comment - I do read them all but it may take me a little while (a couple of days) to respond during busy times. I love reading what you have to say!

Have a wonderful day!
