Five minutes. To write. Just write. Without over-thinking, editing, panicking. Words on a page. Truth, beauty, mess. The word this week....is ROAR.
When I think of a roar, I think of a lion.
A proper, shaggy-maned, majestic lion, like the MGM mascot, roaring with might to strike terror and awe into the hearts and minds of all who encounter it.
We can say that people roar too, I guess, with what they put out there, with how the world perceives them, with the energy they choose to share. I want to roar loud.
I want my roar to speak of the importance of caring, of wanting more, of openness and honesty and love. I want my roar to be harnessed to help the needy, the poor, the voiceless, the small. I want to use my talents and energy and intelligence to create a joyful noise, a roar of optimism and hope and wonder.
Even on the grey days, the money-won't-quite-stretch-days, the tired days, the trying days.
If I'm speaking at volume I want it to count. I'm just one person, but if we join our many little roars together, the noise would be deafening. Strength in numbers, majesty in the crowd.
An aside: I love how these prompts often have me write things I didn't even know were in me!
