Show Us Your Life: Show Us Your Bedrooms

Another Friday, another turn to link up with Kelly's home tours!  As the house is taking up so much of our time, thoughts, and energy at the moment, it's fun to share.  It's also fun to see other peoples' beautifully organised homes and sigh, "One day......"  Plus, these link ups mean my mummy can have a virtual nose round our new pad - as she's all the way up in beautiful Scotland she won't see it in person for months!

We are hugely lucky in that we have six bedrooms.  Five doubles, one single.  The house was originally a three bedroom house, but a loft conversion added three more!  When we were househunting we weren't looking for something this big, but when we met it we just fell in love.  So much potential.

And potential is what I hope you'll bear in mind.  Because when it comes to our bedrooms, there is a ways to go!  Hopefully, by the next time we do this link up I'll have LOADS to share!

As you come up the stairs from the ground floor, the first 'bedroom' is my study, or as we call it, the Claire Lair.  Sunny yellow walls, a desk made of two small dining tables (I couldn't find a proper desk I liked!) and lots and lots of post-its.
Lots of shelving...maybe I need to buy some more books!

Leaving the Claire Lair we go up a couple more steps and along the landing to bedroom 2....

....which is Matthew's study!  Against the wall you can't see there's a tonne of shelving (we do love the Ikea Billy series!).  Can't wait to get some pictures or decals on the wall!

Next to Matthew's room is our room.  It's lovely and roomy, and has a bed so comfy you'd never believe it was actually half a bed.  Yes, B&Q delivered two different halves of the base.  So while the mattress is amazing, it's not sitting on an actual, proper base.  It's okay though, it's only been that way for a month!  Haha, must write a post on our delivery woes another time.

Lots of storage and pretty blue walls!

Then we journey up the stairs to the second floor!

Spare room one.  Which is currently a bed, a cabinet, and some cardboard for recycling!  We have to get this looking like a room for when Matthew's parents come to stay.  In less than a month.  Eek!
The single bedroom in my 'laundry room' and I love it.  Plenty of space, shelves for ironing and bedding, and a TV/DVD player to watch whilst ironing away.  Yes, frankly.
I think I should get 'real' points for showing you room 6!  A.k.a. the room where we dump stuff we haven't had time to place yet!  Over the summer I'm hoping to turn this into another spare room - there's a lovely big skylight (not in shot) and it's wonderfully airy.

So that's our bedrooms, as they stand.  Looking forward to updating in a few months and hopefully wowing you all!

  5. Big sigh. I would give a lot for a house with enough rooms to have space - just space. Lucky you.

Amy, it's a total godsend. Finally, a home for all the blankets.
Relyn, I'm so grateful for the space. especially in London, where people try to rent you out homes the size of matchboxes!

  7. What an awesome amount of bedrooms. My dream is to have a four bedroom house but with six... my husband and I could each have our OWN office. oh sigh :)
