It feels like Kit-mas eve

*cue comedy drumroll*

Tomorrow we are finally going to go pick up our cats!  We know we'd like three (ideally, a mummy cat and two kittens), but until we get to the shelter tomorrow we have no idea what type, age, or temperament will be arriving!  I am very excited, and I think Matthew is too.  He's never had cats, and I've had two great family cats (Moshe and Sam), but this will be my first time being 'in charge'.  I hope we get everything right.

Preparations are in full swing.  We have a mountain of cat food...

....and today is full of other cat based activities - I'm expecting a big delivery of beds and boxes and things, and have the 'fun' job of converting our big dining room from 'large room with tables and tonnes of boxes, junk and tools in' to 'dining room with lots of space for kitteh beds, activity centres, bowls etc'....

Matthew says three (four, tops!).  Which is lucky, because otherwise I would turn into the crazy cat lady!

Et finallement, a question.  We're bouncing around lots of name ideas (from the sweet, to the funny, to the entirely inappropriate....).  What would you call a cat, or even better, a trio of cats?  It's tricky without knowing genders, but we are so open to ideas....

Have a great Friday!

  1. Having cats to greet you when you come home is just the best. I tend to like people names for cats, but that's just me. My first one, a beautiful Calico cat named Cleo, came from a shelter and already had her name. The kitten from a litter left on my vet's doorstep was an orange tabby. So much personality. I named her Sophie after a neighbor's deaf cat that used to come visit.

You are in for a rollicking good time!

  2. Can't wait until the cats arrive. Awww, this is making me miss Miss Rilo Kitty.

I think you'll have to meet the cats before worrying too much about names.

I can't wait to see them on here!
