The Luckiest…

I got two albums through the post today, one of which was ‘Rocking The Suburbs’ by Ben Folds. The album is awesome, and one of the songs is so gorgeous, I feel compelled to share it with you all. It’s called ‘The Luckiest’, and I can’t wait till I have someone I can sing it to…

I don’t get many things right the first time

In fact, I am told that a lot

Now I know all the wrong turns, the stumbles and falls

Brought me here

And where was I before the day

That I first saw your lovely face?

Now I see it everyday

And I know

That I am

I am

I am

The luckiest

What if I’d been born fifty years before you

In a house on a street where you lived?

Maybe I’d be outside as you passed on your bike

Would I know?

And in a wide sea of eyes

I see one pair that I recognize

And I know

That I am

I am

I am

The luckiest

I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you

Next door there’s an old man who lived to his nineties

And one day passed away in his sleep

And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days

And passed away

I’m sorry, I know thats a strange way to tell you that

I know we belong

That I know

That I am

I am

I am

The luckiest

Isn’t that just beautiful? It makes me want to cry, and sigh, and fall in love, all at once. Out of nowhere, we have a brand new top contender for ‘potential first dances at Claire’s wedding’, if and when the country mouse meets her match…

I adore this song. Have a brilliant evening / day / morning!

My brother and his wife chose that song as their wedding song. It is beautiful.

How lovely Claire. Funny though because one of my friends played that song for me the other day and said that it was her husbands song to her. How romantic.I hope it not long before the Country Mouse finds another country mouse.Take care xx

Wow that was beautiful, made me think too. If only we all could find our one true love, our soul mate, we would all feel complete…love is a powerful treasure. Thanks for reminding me =)

Some songs have the quality to make us laugh, some to make us cry. I prefer the latter ones myself.Have you head Dishwalla’s “Every little thing”? If you can get hold of it, listen! It’s amazing
