Rediscovery

Part of the joy of being on break has to be the time it affords me to listen to CDs I haven’t heard in a while. And today I rediscovered ‘Bleed American’ by Jimmy Eat World.

It’s a pretty good album, but one of the songs is just beautiful, and when I saw it made into a ‘Doctor Who’ tribute vid on youtube (you guys know how I love my youtube!), I thought I’d share. And for those of you who like all the gen, here are the lyrics also:

there’s no one in town i know
you gave us someplace to go
i never said thank you for that
thought i might get one more chance

what would you think of me now?
so lucky
so strong
so proud
never said thank you for that
now i’ll never have a chance

may angels lead you in
hear you me my friends
on sleepless roads the sleepless go
may angels lead you in

what would you think of me now?
so lucky
so strong
so proud
never said thank you for that
now i’ll never have a chance

may angels lead you in
hear you me my friends
on sleepless roads the sleepless go
may angels lead you in

if you were with me tonight
i’d sing to you just one more time
a song for a heart so big
God wouldn’t let it live

may angels lead you in
hear you me my friends
on sleepless roads the sleepless go
may angels lead you in

may angels lead you in
hear you me my friends
on sleepless roads the sleepless go
may angels lead you in

Love you guys,
Cxx

I always wondered how they got the name “Jimmy Eat World.” Everybody knows what the initials stand for … I’m not sure if this is what they meant or why they did this.
