Isn’t it amazing what a little sunshine can do?
Last night it was windy, cold, wet, wild, freezing rain-sleet hurling itself down, ruining outfits and giving me hair that redried to look like a frizztacular version of Miss Diana Ross. A good look, I’m sure you will agree ;).
This morning, it’s a different story. I awoke to a gentle yellow light peeking through the curtains, and ate my wholewheat banana cake to the tune of happy birds on the trees outside my window. It’s still chilly, but the sky is blue, the sun is shining, and the wind has calmed to a gentle breeze that ruffles the evergreens. The snowdrops and crocuses that are peeping out look cheery on the lawns. The children are smilier and the world looks different.
I love the sun. 🙂
And it reminds me that we are after all, in March, and that spring is a mere hop, skip, and jump away. After March winds and April showers, will come May flowers, and sunny days. Lovely. Besides, there’s so much to enjoy about the turning from winter into spring, as the world wakes up – gorgeous sunrises, banks of daffodils, that wonderful rising of the sap in the world at large. A season of life, of renewal, of change. In many, many ways.
