Show us your life…Beauty tips

Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner

Another Friday…so it must be time for ‘Show Us Your Life’ (or “suyl”, as I’ve taken to calling it, which if you capitalised looks a little like it could be the latest celeb baby name sweeping the globe). And this week Kelly wants us to share our beauty hints and tips.

First things first – water and sleep are truly the most important weapons in your arsenal as you battle to be beautiful, I think. I know this, and yet am typing this today with humungous bags under my eyes because once again I didn’t get my forty winks last night (more like thirty three and a third). I also think that all the truly beautiful people I am lucky enough to know are kind, sweet, and lovely…I think what’s inside totally manifests itself on the outside!

That said – here are some of my go to products for when you need a little help…

I love the Sanctuary range. I grew up with eczema and sensitive skin, and to this day still moisturise one to three times a day (I have thirsty skin!). Their body butter is amazing, smells divine, and does the job brilliantly. It’s pricey, but lasts a fair while, so I’ll use it. When I’m budgeting, however, my next favourite moisturiser is Tesco’s cocoa butter – it’s a total steal, feels divine (leaving soft, non greasy skin), and smells good too!

A range I love is Philosophy. Who doesn’t want to smell of baked goods or fresh fruit? Matthew got me a box of treats from there for Christmas which I may start dipping into this evening! I also love their fragrances – I’m wearing ‘inner grace’ today.

Another fragrance I love, and which I always get compliments on is ‘Happy’ by Clinique. I love the fresh fruity notes to it! I wear this most often and am frequently told I smell good / delicious when I wear it….that’s good enough for me!

For hair, I tend to just let the barnet do as it wishes, but Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner really help it stay in condition.

Makeup, I kind of draw a blank on. I wear it maybe a dozen times a year, but am at the age now where I think a little bit daily might be useful. I’d love to hear about your tips and picks in the comments.

Right, I’m off to read everyone elses ideas now….

Happy Friday!

Makeup – I use the Philosophy primer, which is also spf 15 (unfortunately I haven't seen it on sale here – I got mine in the States). Apart from that, MAC. It's expensive but sooo good. With their powders and eyeshadows it's easy to build up coverage whether you need a little or a lot, so it does double-duty as every day or special occasion makeup. Concealer, I use touche eclat, though Estee Lauder does an incredible concealer.

If I had enough money to wear make up right now I would be wearing Benefit bad gal lash in brown, some kind of tinted moisturiser, and Chanel red lipstick. At the moment though I'm just going with moisturiser and as much of it as I can get! I'm also (when I have money again) going to get Sanctuary products as neither you or my sister are allergic to them which bodes well. 🙂

Happy Friday!! I think J-Lo said that one of her secrets is hydration, lots of water (I think it was J-Lo).I love the smell of that Clinique perfume. It's name describes it to a tee!!

I like Clinique makeup. Most of the stuff I wear is Clinique.

Sleep is essential but the water thing is a myth. Gorillas don't drink any water because the food they eat is so lush. Fruit is better for you than water.
