I’ve been reading more, and spending money on books instead of snacks! I loved The Kite Runner (so sad!), giggled my way through I Lick My Cheese, and am now romping through Strictly English.

I’ve been blogging more – and loving catching up on other peoples blogs too. I love the friends and acquaintances I have in the blogosphere, so it’s always great to make time to read what people have been up to.

I’ve been cooking more and experimenting with recipes. I’m really looking forward to half-term break for some real cooking time.

I’ve been walking more. London is beautiful at this time of year!

I’ve been getting more organised. Our life is busy, yes, but so are the lives of lots of people. I’m working hard to get the life/work balance right. And in that order. Yes, work is very important, but it’s my job…it’s just a part of my life. Also important are my lovely Matthew, my family, my friends, my health….and I need to make space for everything.

I’ve been planning for December – with Christmas and my thirtieth both on the horizon, I want it to be a really lovely month!

I’ve been enjoying Strictly Come Dancing (for my American/Canadian friends, that’s the Brit version of DWTS), and fell asleep during the X Factor (which I think I’ll give a miss now).

How about you?

Thank you for the book suggestions. I must find I Lick My Cheese, I have some roommate horror stories of my own, and Strictly English sounds fabulous.I hope you're able to get the life/work balance where you want it. I know that for teachers it gets thrown off every autumn.

Books instead of snacks and cooking more rather than dining at restaurants…I need to do more of these things! I love cooking in the fall/winter when the house is cool and the kitchen is oven-warm…with spiced pumpkin candles burning! London is certainly beautiful this time of year. I was there in November in the late 80s and fell in love with it! I loved being called "love" everywhere I went. 🙂

I haven't been reading much lately, although I have a couple of good books on the go, most notably Thomas Merton's "The Seven Storey Mountain". It doesn't make me giggle, but it is spiritually soothing.
