Linking up as ever with the beautiful Lisa-Jo.
This week’s word…is delight.
What a wonderful word.
A word full of laughter, joy, beauty glimpsed, moments which lift.
When I think of delight, so many images jump straight into my mind.
A weekend day where neither Matthew and I have plans, so we spend the whole day in our jimjams, eating toast and chatting and making tea and giggling.
Laughing with my girls over old stories and new stories, candles burning low and the clock unthought of.
Dancing around the classroom with my badgers on a grey and rainy Monday afternoon, the low of a wet break forgotten as we boogie on down to some calypso music on youtube.
I love to feel delight, and to feel delighted in. There’s something special about delight, something precious, something delicate. It’s to be treasured, to be cherished.
It’s a rainbow after a storm, autumn leaves on the turn, pale winter sunrises and the heavy drop of snow after days of yellow-skied anticipation. It’s a million small moments, words, touches which add up to something more wonderful, more amazing, more holy than the sum of their parts.
I relish delight because I find life delightful. How about you?
