Linking up with the lovely Jessica for another Project Life Tuesday!
Monday, June 4th: Was the first of two bank holidays as we celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Matthew and I threw a little party, which was going to be a barbeque, but ended up being chili and baked potatoes. Ah, the good old British weather! It was so nice to see so many of our favourite people and was lovely to introduce some of our friends to each other who had not met before.
Laura, James, Adam and (Siobhán’s) Matthew. Check Adam working the camera! 🙂
This was just the start of the food….there was a lot of eating, drinking, and being merry!
Lou’s solar powered Queen was the perfect finishing touch to the table!
Tuesday, June 5th: Was a very, very lazy day. Grey and uninviting weather plus the busy-ness of Monday meant that Matthew and I elected Tuesday to be a PJ day. Movies, reading, playing around on the internet and cups of tea. Lovely!
Just a few of our mugs!
Wednesday, June 6th: After my study (a.k.a. ‘The Claire Lair’) looking like a bombsite for several weeks, I finally wrangled with the rubbish and made it spick and span. A much nicer place to work, write and relax now!
Love how much space we have in this house!
Thursday, June 7th: Another grey and rainy day in London. This June so far has been heinous for the most part, weather wise! I made Matthew and I a meal of fairly healthy comfort food – chicken with a spicy marinade, honey-butter sweet potato and corn salsa. Then I went to meet Eileen for a pie making masterclass at Fortnum’s – divine!
Tremendous fun – I learned so much about pie making and picked up some awesome tips!
Friday, June 8th: A day of report writing, doing jobs around the house, daydreaming and going to furniture/ homeware shops. I’m fast learning that home ownership brings with it many things to do! There’s always something!
Love our kitchen badger.
Union Flag Duck Tape. Amazing!
Saturday, June 9th: Was a lovely chilled day at home with Matthew and an evening of comedy and fun with Lou. I really am a very lucky girl!
Lou celebrates her first visit to a Giraffe restaurant!
Lou never fails to make me giggle. The girl is an absolute treasure!
Sunny South Bank. Yes, we actually had a day with SUN!
Love our city.
Sunday, June 10th: Had a very ‘back to school’ feel. Naps and making flapjacks and tidying and ironing EIGHTY SEVEN items. Yes, eighty seven. Felt so good to defeat the backlog – laundry and ironing are truly the never ending chores in this house!
All four ironing shelves (the entire top row).
