I always love this Friday in December, as it’s when I join Kelly‘s link up about Christmas decorations. We *love* dressing up the house for Christmas and it’s great fun to share our decorations and to look at everyone else’s too! Merry Christmas!
We have about 90% of our decs out – I’m hoping to do the last few (in our studies and the kitchen, and putting up all the cards!) later today.
This is Mr Hedgehog, who lives on our centre landing. We found him in Bruges and the kits are absolutely fascinated by him!
Davina tree is a new addition this year, and she lives in our room. Underneath her I have placed any gifts betwixt Matthew and I, and Matthew’s 12 days of Christmas gifts too (more on that, soon!).
The stockings have been hung with care.
The bannisters going up to the top floor.
I love putting little friendlies hither and thither!
This garland adorns the first set of stairs in our house. Fry-cat is absolutely transfixed by it! It was such a good buy, I may get more next year for the other bannisters as it’s safer for the cats, and by then they’ll be a lot more free range I imagine (they like to spend most of their time in a few rooms at the moment).
Dave the tree lives in our front room. I’ve had him for eight years now and I love him! At the moment all that’s beneath him is candy and crackets, but some our gifts to friends will be there. High on the agenda for today is gift wrapping 🙂
Tom badger loves to Christmas it up too!
Even watching the game needs a seasonal twist, no?
We don’t have a mantel, but we do have a three metre long shelving unit in our sitting room. This is the right hand side – I *love* my scentsy burner! We are using a lot of Christmas Cottage and Ginger Cookie at the moment – delish!
Middle of the shelves.
Left hand side.
Dave with his lights on.
I thought I’d share a few favourite ornaments too. I bought this merlot one in Dallas with Jenna and we both have one on our tree. Always makes me smile and think of my dear friend!
A new ornament this year – so cute!
Love this glass ornament of the Holy Family.
A shiny from our trip to Dublin two years ago.
And one from Stratford Upon Avon last year!
I bought this guy when I visited Canada in 2008.
I love to keep Christmas candy in the sitting room, ready for people to share!
In lieu of a tree skirt, I used some red material and a feather boa. I kind of love how it turned out!
Because we have two front doors, I can display our wreath on the inner one, where it won’t get rained on, which is lucky given the rain we’re enduring just now.
Even the kitty room has its own tree 😉
Mr Santa is counting us down! 11 days to go!
