Those of you who read here often, or who know me in person, know that I love to plan and organise.
I have a knack for such things, and I love to spend time making sure loose ends are tied up and everything squared away. Each Sunday night I love to sit with my planner and my Google Calendar and my blog planning notebook and make sure everything is nicely sorted, from the big things like birthdays and deadlines and events, to the day-to-day (blog posts, research, classes), to the little, nitty-gritty parts of the week (pick up dry cleaning, change the Feliway in the katzenraum, pay the windows guy). Even though I love having things online, I adore having a paper planner where I can see what’s what!
For many years, I was a devoted user of the Erin Condren Life Planner. This year I decided to forgo my beloved Life Planner to see if there was another product I could use and I just haven’t found another planner I like as much.
They are sturdy, beautiful, well-made, and there’s ample space for notes and details, and I love the cute accessories and add ons you can build in. I tried a whole range of other planners, and some were good (hi, Paperchase) and others not so good, but ultimately I really missed sitting down with my trusty Life Planner and some stickers (and a glass of wine) on a Sunday night and getting everything just so for the week ahead.
Above are a selection of planners from years past (the one I ordered last week will be my sixth!) – as well as the Life Planner I’ve also used Erin Condren for a teacher’s planner when I was still working in school, and even used an EC planner to help with planning our wedding!
Last week the new planners launched and I was there on the very first day, ready to pounce. Before long a beautiful planner was in my basket and yesterday an email landed in my inbox saying it had shipped. I can’t wait to blog about it and how I’m hoping to use it in the months to come. I’m so looking forward to some more fun planning with what has grown to be such a useful, wonderful tool.
Stationery is my love language. Do you have a planner or another stationery product you wouldn’t be without?
