Happy Monday #19

It’s Monday, it’s the start of the week, which means it’s time for a lovely, positive start to the week. Katy and Jasmin inspired me with their cheery posts each week, and now, when schedule allows, I join in with a happy Monday of my own. Let’s go!

1. New blogging projects

I’ve been thinking for ages that I’d like to set up some spinoff blogs from this main one. My blog is a lifestyle one, and while I adore the breadth this affords me, I’ve been thinking for a while that certain elements that I write about are more niche, and I’ve been toying with the idea of setting up separate domains for them. So this past week I set up CMClaire Cooks, CMClaire Reads, and CMClaire Travels. I have no idea how this experiment will play out…but I’m excited to have a play! I’ve been writing here for almost eleven years now (good heavens!), and it felt like time to try something new. Worst case scenario, I’ll fold ’em back in here!

2. Catching up with friends

It’s been a fairly social week, and I’ve had lots of time with some of my favourite people. Always a tonic!

3. Lumos at the House of Lords

On Monday I was lucky enough to attend a reception in the House of Lords to celebrate the wonderful work of Lumos, the charity I am a blogger ambassador for. It was a marvellous opportunity to reflect on all the wonderful things that have been achieved by the charity so far and to look forward to the challenges of the year to come. To learn more about Lumos, please do visit their website; I am excited to partner with them further in the new year.

4. PJ days

Yesterday was a day for boxsets, PJs and baths. Blissful.

5. New planner fun!

I was very excited to receive my new teacher’s planner from Erin Condren on Friday – I am excited to set it up for the term to come, ready to teach my new class.

6. Flat Iron Square with blogger lovelies

On Thursday the lovely team at Flat Iron Square kindly hosted a bunch of bloggers for a pre-Christmas get-together. There were bubbles, fantastic food, and absolute buckets of laughter. Such a great spot for a catch up – I’m excited to return soon.

7. The last little bit of Christmas shopping

With all the major items sorted weeks back, I’ve loved seeking out a few extra gifts 🙂

8. London lights and festive decorations

London is the most amazing place to be this time of year!

9. Learning more about sleep with Tempur

On Friday I went to a fascinating lecture on sleep at the Royal Institution. I’m something of an evangelist about good sleep, so this event (hosted by Tempur) was a great fit with my interests! A full post to follow, but needless to say it was an elucidating and entertaining evening.

10. 2017 plans

Bring it on – I have fun planned!

Have a fabulous week, all, and a Happy Hannukah and Merry Christmas to all when they arrive!
