I’m back! And ready for the first Happy Monday of 2017. Inspired by the lovely Katy and Jasmin, these erstwhile roundups focus on the good things, big and small, that make it all worthwhile.
Time with friends
Whether it’s brunch with Kaz, pizza and a movie with Shona, a baby shower for a dear JLL sister, silliness and fun with bloggy friends, dinner giggles, or catching up with Jenna after a two-and-a-half year break, I’m always grateful for time with the people who make up my tribe.
2. Lighter mornings
Isn’t it great to wake up and head off to work and it’s not pitch dark?
I’ve finally bitten the bullet and signed up for some dance classes at the gym, to get moving and break a sweat. I am by no means a great dancer (a ballerina hippopotamus springs to mind when I try to bust a move) but by gosh I enjoy it, and it’s lovely to feel the burn a little and have a workout.
4. Recipe ideas
My schedule at the moment is a little frenetic so cooking lovely meals is becoming trickier from a time perspective. So it’s nice to look ahead to the Easter break, when I’ll have a week in Italy to get totally inspired, and then two weeks when I can definitely get some recipe fun in the diary!
5. Visits and travel plans
I loved heading up to Scotland for the weekend just past. I adore London but sometimes getting out of town is exactly what the doctor ordered. I’m really excited now to head off to Italy during the Easter break. Bring on the pasta, the wine, the culture and the history…
6. Little traditions
I love the little bits and bobs that make our lives that little bit lovelier. Such as texts with in jokes, laughing till your sides get sore recalling a shared silliness, or the unique joy that was the Pancake Day relay at school last Tuesday!
The trio of trouble are in a good mood once more; it took them a few weeks to adjust to my being back in full time work but now they are grand once more. Love those silly felines.
Work has been busy recently (ah hello, teaching :)), so the tube commute has been all about cheesey things to watch or good books to read. I watched the first season of Awkward on TV ages ago, but now I’m enjoying watching the later seasons each morning and evening.
I’ve got a bundle addressed and ready to go. Love me a mail opportunity.
The last few months have offered a lot of opportunities to grow, change and learn, and I’m grateful for each of them. Whether it’s returning to the classroom and remembering how much I enjoy it, or splitting my blog into quarters then deciding I prefer it as one, I’m lucky to have so many chances to change things, to re-order things, and to be happy.
Have a lovely week, all.
