I love the many random invites that pop up in my inbox on a pretty regular basis. Some are straightforward. Some are delightful. Some are confusing. And just once in a while you get one that truly piques your interest. Like the one I received last month inviting me to a John Lewis Pool Party.
I love me some John Lewis. Whether it’s homewares, gifts, food or clothing, I’m a regular shopper there, and have been for several years. I’ve also been lucky enough to attend events quite often at the Oxford Street store. Which made me wonder…where on earth was the pool???
I shouldn’t have worried, however, because the lack of an *actual* pool didn’t make the John Lewis Pool Party any less fun. There were deckchairs and a deejay, floaties strewn on a tiled floor to give the illusion of water (genuinely took me a fair few minutes to realise there wasn’t any water!), cocktails and nibbles, and plenty of gorgeous summer goodies to get one in the mood for summer fun on the beach, in the garden, or in the city. The John Lewis Pool Party launched Poolside, JL’s one stop shop for all your summer needs, from clothing to beauty, entertaining to the home.
Love, love, love the Sunnylife floaties! I have a watermelon one which I cannot wait to take to the beach or the pool.
Vix and Erica posing all cute in the mirrored ceiling!
I love the chance to catch up with other bloggers! Sometimes blogging with a day job (which is pretty all-consuming and that I love) can have me feeling a little out of the loop, so I love the chance to see other members of the blogosphere out and about.
A few of my favourite picks from the Poolside range?
I love the American Tourister suitcases in navy – perfect if you’re jetting off for your summer break (lucky thing!).
Kids will adore the Sunnylife floats – what child wouldn’t love their very own unicorn?
I think the Vita Liberata products look so chic! I was lucky enough to be gifted some of the Self Tanning Night Moisture Mask Gradual Build Tan at the event, so I’m excited to see if 2018 might finally be the year I’m more tan, less A4 paper white!
This Under the Sea beach towel is so pretty – I may have to pick up one for myself!
These cute Carvela wedges would be perfect for holiday – comfortable enough to wear during the day for sightseeing, and chic enough to pair with a maxi dress or a kaftan for evening drinks.
Disclaimer: I was invited to attend the event and happily did so. All thoughts, words and images are my own.
