John Lewis Autumn/Winter

One of my favourite things about blogging is getting to go along to press shows for a little sneak peek at what’s on the horizon. Whether it’s fabulous fashion, fresh looks for the home, or new trends, it’s always a treat to see what trends and pieces are up next.

I’m not going to fib, this can be a little surreal – winter coats in April, bikinis in November, Christmas in July! – but no less fun for that. Back in April I was invited down to Covent Garden for a look at John Lewis’s offerings for Autumn/Winter, but I thought I’d wait to share them till now, when we’re all starting to look beyond the summer to the cooler months at the tailend of the year.

I loved the homewares on display, and the cool colour schemes which dominated many of the collections – blues and greys abounded with lots of metallics, natural fibres and materials, and lovely pieces to draw the eye.

The Palazzo collection was gorgeous, full of rich hues and interesting pieces, and great little details like those on the dresser above – brass lamps, great vases, lovely touches everywhere.

This Royal Brierley crystal really caught my eye – I loved the deep navy of the glass. It would make such a pretty addition to a bar cart, or a great gift for friends who enjoy a cocktail or a dram.

As you would expect, cosy looks and designs were everywhere as we look forward to the cooler seasons. I loved the range of blankets, cushions and big fluffy details, especially those in the Croft collection. I’m really looking forward to getting to John Lewis before long to pick up a few little details (and maybe some of that crystal!) for the house.

Note: I was invited along to the press day to preview the new collections. All thoughts, opinions and images my own.
